2 Days Big 5 Safari in Rwanda

The 2 Days Big 5 Safari in Rwanda will take you to Akagera National Park, where you are likely to encounter the Big 5 animals, a variety of bird species, lush vegetation and scenic landscapes. The City Tour is one to lookout for as well, as it will usher you into the cultural aspect of Rwandese, Visit the local markets and Genocide Memorial among other attractions.

Day 1

Destination: Akagera National Park

Activity: Sunrise Safari and Boat cruise

Sunrise Safari

An early Pick up from a place of your choice and drive to Akagera National Park. It’s a 2 hours’ drive from the city Kigali, covering a distance of averagely 97 kilometers. On arrival at the Park, your morning safari will resume. The park inhabits the “Big 5” namely; Elephants, Rhinos, Lions, Leopards and Bufalos. On a lucky, day you may encounter them all. Other animals are hippos, Warthogs, Waterbucks, Giraffes, Crocodile, Nile Monitor Lizards, and a variety of bird species like the starlings, Eagles, Kingfishers among others. Later in the day, you’ll check in and have lunch as you prepare for a boat cruise.

Afternoon Boat cruise

In the afternoon as per the scheduled time of the boat communicated by your guide, the boat cruise will resume. Animals expected to encounter are Hippos, Buffalos, Crocodiles, Nile Monitor Lizards and a variety of birds like African fish Eagles, Palm nut Vultures and Herons among others.

Destination: Kigali City

Activity: Sunrise Safari and City Tour

Sunrise Safari

Early in the Morning after breakfast, you will embark on yet another exhilarating morning safari experience in the North of Akagera National Park where animals like Masai Giraffes, Elephants, Lions, Leopards, Waterbucks and Zebras among others are expected to be encountered, not forgetting over 500 bird species that the park boast of. After the game drive, your journey to Kigali resumes.

City Tour

Kigali is one of the most organized Cities in Africa! Your guide will drive you around the city as he shares with you the social, cultural and economic life styles of the Rwandese.

Local Market experience. Visit the Local markets, to witness a variety of local merchandise being sold. Agricultural products like Pineapples, avocados, different types of bananas and other products, will be at your exposure. This will surely help you relate on how differently things are done back home.

Genocide Memorial Museum. No matter how strong you may be, the story about Rwanda’s Genocide, will leave you saddened and wondering on how this could have happened to humanity. Over 800,000 Rwandese lost their lives. The Genocide Museum therefore narrates on how everything began and how it ended. It is a “must visit” when in Kigali.

Later in the day, you will be driven back to your residence.
