Day 1 of Kenya and Rwanda Safari

Arrival at Kigali International Airport for the start of Kenya and Rwanda Safari

Your Guide will be waiting at Kigali International AirPort with a placard written your names. You will proceed to the Hotel which is 20 minutes away. We understand how hectic the flight can be, therefore relax and enjoy the serenity at the hotel.

Day 2 of Kenya and Rwanda Safari

Kigali City Tour 

Kigali is one of the most organized and clean cities in Africa! During the city tour you will see, learn and experience the social, cultural and economic lifestyle of Rwandese.

Local Market Experience

In the morning after breakfast, your city tour will begin as you are headed to the Local market. While in the market, expect to see a variety of agricultural products like fresh Pineapples, avocados, bananas and locally made artifacts like traditional clothes, baskets and others. undoubtedly,he experience is totally different from the markets you are used to in your home country as this one is crowded and every seller trying to attract a buyer.

Genocide Memorial Museum

Immediately after the market experience, next is visiting the genocide memorial museum. No matter how strong you may be, the story about Rwanda’s Genocide that happened in 1994 , will leave you saddened and wondering on how this could have happened to humanity.

Over 800,000 Rwandese including children, lost their lives due to their difference in appearance between the Tutsi and Hutu. The Genocide Museum therefore narrates on how everything began and how it ended. during the tour, evidence of used equipment and other materials are displayed as well as voice recorded gadgets are availed to explain more.

Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Later in the day, through the rolling hills of Kigali, the journey will lead you to Volcanoes National Park for Gorilla tracking on the next day. The drive is 2- 3 hours.

Day 3 of Kenya and Rwanda Safari

Gorilla Tracking at Volcanoes National Park

In the morning after breakfast,  you will attend Gorilla trek briefing and assigned a Gorilla group. Every Group is tracked by 8 members . These gentle giants are so admirable to watch as they have a lot in common with humans! They share with a human race 95% DNA.

Preparation for Gorilla Tracking

As you are headed for tracking, you will carry packed lunch, water and rain gear in your backpack. Also, you are advised to put on trousers, long-sleeved shirts or blouse that are nature friendly in color, Hiking shoes, Gaiters, hut and face musk.

Hire Porters

Porters are very helpful when tracking Gorillas as they carry your backpack and support you when a difficult terrain. You are highly recommended to hire one or more depending on your hiking capability.

Gorilla tracking Duration

Tracking takes 2-6 hours depending on how far or close the Gorilla group you are tracking is located. After finding them, you have 1 hour of viewing.

Afternoon Cultural experience

Later in the afternoon after Gorilla tracking, you will visit Ibyiwachu village, to interact with the local people and learn about their culture. During the visit, they perform traditional dances, introduce to you local drinks like banana beer, banana gin and banana juice. You will also learn different local herbs that cure various diseases. Besides, you will also learn local skills of making different artifacts like baskets, bags, clothes and shoes.

Day 4 of Kenya and Rwanda Safari

Flight to Nairobi 

Embark on the Journey to Kigali International Airport for your flight to Kenya.

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport your Driver Guide carrying a placard written your names, will be waiting.

Nairobi City Tour

Depending on the time of your arrival, you will relax or indulge in a City Tour. Places to visit on a guided tour are the National Museum whereby you get to know the cultural, Political and history of Kenya through the exhibited Hominid Fossils, artifacts, and tribal culture among others. Immerse yourself in a local person’s lifestyle by enjoying local cuisines and drinks as you continue exploring the city. Other places to visit is the Giraffe Centre where you get up close and personal to these majestic creatures while feeding and touching them.

Day 5 of Kenya and Rwanda Safari

Drive to Lake Nakuru National

The Journey from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park is one to look out for as it is full of exciting moments! On arrival at the lodge, you will relax, have lunch and prepare for a sunset boat cruise.

Later in the afternoon, your boat cruise will resume. A variety of wildlife is expected to be sighted up close while drinking water, cooling off from the scorching sun and playing. Such animals include; Elephants, Hippos, Buffalos, Water bucks, Zebras and thousands of flamingos among other attractions! After the cruise, enjoy a snack and a glass of sparkling wine while watching the sun setting.

Day 6 of Kenya and Rwanda Safari

Sunrise Safari in Lake Nakuru National Park

Early in the morning after breakfast, your safari will begin. Lake Nakuru National Park is famous for higher populations of both white and black Rhinos, you are likely to encounter them. Other animals in the park are Lions, Elephants, the rare Rothchild’s Giraffes, Cheetahs, Leopards and lots of flamingos among other fascinating wildlife.

Drive to Masai Mara National Reserve

After the safari, your Journey to Masai Mara resumes. Along the way, are the small towns and settlements of the Masai people that are interesting to see.

The Endless plains of Masai Mara’s un spoilt and authentic eco-system runs through your mind and soul as you witness nature at its best! Masai Mara’s wildlife is like no other as animals are sighted in Herds, Prides, packs, Harems, Towers and families among other groups! Day 7 of Kenya and Rwanda Safari

Full day Gem Safari

Early in the morning after breakfast, the search for wildlife in Masai Mara begins. On the list are the cats like Lions, Leopards and Cheetahs. Other animals to encounter are herds of Elephants, Packs of Hyenas, Wildebeests, Zebras and Giraffes among others. For the bird enthusiasts, there’s quite a range of colorful birds like the Lilac breasted Rollers, Common Ostriches, Bateleur Eagles, Secretary birds and more.

Picnic Lunch break

At an appropriate time, no better Lunch than the one served in the wilderness while gazing at the endless plains of Masai Mara and surrounded by wildlife before embarking on more gem. It is later in the day, that you will return to the camp to freshen up and get ready for dinner.

Day 8 of Kenya and Rwanda Safari

Sunset Dhow Cruise on the Indian Ocean

In the Morning after breakfast, you will be transferred to the airfield for your flight to Diani Beach. On arrival at Diani Airport, a hotel shuttle will pick you up. Later in the day, a sunset dhow cruise is set to relax your mind while enjoying the silence and the fresh breeze of the ocean as you watch the sun setting. A variety of drinks and snacks are on board.

At dinner time, you are to enjoy a candle light dinner at the gaze of the stars before heading back to the resort. Sea food and local delicacies are on the menu of the day.

Day 9 of Kenya and Rwanda Safari

Diving and Snorkeling at Wasini Island

After breakfast, as per the time communicated by your guide, you will head out for diving and snorkeling. Along the way, there are higher chances of seeing Dolphins and birds among others. On arrival at Wasini Island, you are exposed to marine life under the ocean like the sea plants, coral reefs, Dolphins and different kinds of fish and reptiles among others.

Visit to the slave caves

From Wasini Island, you will visit the slave caves on the main land of Shimon village where Slaves were first kept before transportation to Zanzibar in the slave market. Later in the evening, you will be transferred back to the hotel.

Transfer to Moi International Airport, Mombasa

Today you are to relax at the Resort or take a self-guided walk along the beach as you wait for time to get transferred to the airport for your flight back home. Always remember to be at the airport 3 hours before your flight.

City Tour Kigali is one of the most organized Cities in Africa! Your guide will drive you around the city as he shares with you the social, cultural and economic life styles of the Rwandese. You will as well, visit the Local markets, to witness a variety of local merchandise being sold. Agricultural products like Pineapples, avocados, different types of bananas and other products, will be at your exposure. This will surely help you relate on how differently things are done back home. Genocide Memorial Museum No matter how strong you may be, the story about Rwanda’s Genocide, will leave you saddened and wondering on how this could have happened to humanity. Gorilla Tracking Early in the Morning after breakfast your guide will drive you to the briefing point. Per group of Mountain Gorillas is allocated to eight Tourists. You are required to carry packed lunch, water and rain gear in your backpack since tracking may take 2-6 hours depending on how far or close they may be. Guided by an armed ranger and other armed forces for your protection in the jungle, you are advised to follow their advice. On reaching to the Gorillas, only one hour is allowed for viewing. These gentle giants are quite an exhilarating experience encountering them! You can’t hide the excitement of watching how they handle themselves just like human beings as teenagers play with each other and some being curious as they try coming next to you. Gorillas share over 95% DNA with the human race. Imagine how much of the resemblance we share. Hiring a porter to carry your backpack during tracking is highly recommended. Not only are you saving energy to get to the Gorillas but as well supporting the community. On the eve of the tracking day, your guide will brief you more so as to prepare you for the day. Cultural experience Rwandese have one of the unique and rich culture in Africa! During the visit at Ibyiwachu village, you get to interact with the local people and take you through their daily lives. Traditional Dances are performed, you are introduced to local banana brewery that produces banana beer, banana gin and banana juice. While on the cruise a variety of animal species are expected to be sighted up close and personal. These can be seen drinking water, cooling off from the scorching sun and playing together. Sunrise Safari At the agreed time with your guide, the sunrise safari will resume. Lake Nakuru National Park is famously known for higher populations of both white and black Rhinos. The mission is to have an opportunity to spot some among other wildlife like Lions, Elephants, the rare Rothchild’s Giraffes, Cheetars, Leopards and more of the flamingos. After the safari, your Journey to Masai Mara resumes. Depending on the departure time, you may have lunch en route or at the Camp.
